Visiting the beautiful nature at Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary
Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Phu Luang Mountain area in the south of Loei Province, it was established in 1974. Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary is open to public, the reserve is named after its highest mountain which peaks at 1,571 meters. It covers whole the mountain plateau around the peak which has an attitude around 1,200-1,500 meters above sea level. Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary has a trail that leads from Lon Mon a pine forest, a grass field, a flower field on a rock plateau and many cliffs for a total distance of about 6 kilometers. There are many kinds of forest like dry evergreen forest, hill evergreen forest and mixed deciduous forest and the most outstanding ones on Phu Luang are Pinus Merkusii and Khasi Pine forest. The jungle plateau with a cool climate throughout year and the sanctuary is covered with Lady’s Slipper orchids, white wild orchids white and red rhododendrons and dendrobiums. Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary has various wildlife and the dinosaur’s footprints on the rock which located on the eastern side of Phu Luang, these footprints are estimated over 100-140 million years old which is Carnosaur. So do not MISS out on visiting Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary in Loei Province.
